Amid the totora live “Los Uros”, a town that basically is fisherman and hunter of birds. They use the totora to build their floating islands where on them build their houses, which are inhabited by families that transmit their beliefs and generation customs in generation. Their residents are of language Aymará and currently occupy the Titicaca National Reserve, also they are great shipbuilders of cattails.
