DESCRIPTION

Located 104 km from the city of Puno along the paved road to Cusco, Pukara stands at the foot of a distinctive red-rock cliff. The Pukara culture reached an important period of development around 100 BC, and some scholars consider it potentially older than the Tiwanaku culture.
